Plain-language summary. AlexTV is a parental control tool for parents. The parent is our user — not the child. We collect the minimum information needed to run the app, we do not sell your data, we do not show ads, we do not collect any personal information about your child (no names, no ages, no photos, no voices), and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children directly. The only child-related data we store is a minute counter used to turn the app off when the parent’s daily limit is reached.
This app, AlexTV: Kids YouTube Control (the “App,” “Service,” “AlexTV”), is operated by Michael Nguyen, an independent solo developer (referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our” throughout this policy). You can contact us at any time at [email protected].
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with (spoiler: almost no one), and the rights you have over it. By downloading, installing, or using AlexTV, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
AlexTV is designed for, marketed to, and intended to be used exclusively by parents and legal guardians (adults 18 years of age or older) to manage their child’s YouTube viewing experience. The App is not directed to children, does not contain a children-facing account system, and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that higher age applies).
If you are under 18, please do not create an account or use the App without a parent or guardian’s involvement.
We take children’s privacy very seriously. The App is configured so that:
If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete it. Our practices are intended to comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), the “children’s” provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR-K,” Article 8), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and equivalent laws.
